About Josh Vardey
I am a multimedia journalist, freelance cameraman and online video producer based in France.
I studied Drama at Exeter University, where my passion for journalism grew while editing the features and music section of the weekly award-winning student newspaper. After a year of travelling throughout India and America, I worked as a researcher on entertainment and documentary programmes for Channel 4, BBC3 and MTV and then as a press assistant for the British Transport Police.
After completing an MA in International Journalism at University College Falmouth, I won the Ferdynand Zweig scholarship and spent a month in Syria making an undercover documentary about the Iraq refugee crisis. Out of this came a film and a radio piece, which was aired on Radio France Internationale in August.
I am currently based in Paris working as a freelance reporter and desk journalist for Radio France Internationale and France 24.
